Something I would never expect to see so prevalent in Paris Couture Week collections are sequins! Shows, like the above, Schiaparelli and Valentino used sequins in a classy way to make statement pieces. I also like how both of these looks layer the sequins with a sheer material or solid colored piece. More on layering sequins a bit later on in the post! Nevertheless, full top to bottom sequins achieved by Galia Lahav, Armani Privé, and Idan Cohen below clearly prove there's a sequined piece for everyone, from the color enthusiasts to the monochrome dressers. If you are not into dresses, rock sequins like this Idan Cohen bodysuit or Atelier Versace jumpsuit. I believe one of the most subdued conventional ways to incorporate sequins would be by throwing some pants over a sequin detailed bodysuit.

Some of the most diverse applications of sequins were with the tops. Armani Privé had full sequined tops, to blazers, and even fabric mixing with sheer. Georges Chakra's sequin top kept it simple and clean with this full gold sequined top and delicate cut outs on the shoulder. Check out the items below to find which top style you like best for sequins!

If you are feeling a bit more bold but not ready to make the dive into top to bottom sequins, try sequined skirts or pants. Atelier Versace most definitely makes these sequined pants look good by matching it with a solid plain white jacket, just as Armani Privé balances the look with a solid black top. You will find it easier to wear sequins if you balance it with a solid monochrome item.

If you are also on the over the knee boot obsession, this is the perfect match! Sequined over the knee boots! Georges Chakra and Idan Cohen display full sequined looks with these shoes, but you can always separate the shoes and wear it with a minimalistic look to let the sequins shine!

The simplest detail can make all the difference, so go for one of these pieces that have subtle hints to sequins but do not overshadow the outfit. Also, how beautiful does this Idan Cohen dress on the right look?

Another subtle way would be to wear a piece that incorporates the sequins into the fabric almost. This keeps the sequins all throughout the look, without it being overbearing or too showy!

Now that you found your sequin pieces, read on to learn the many ways to style them. Galia Lahav and Idan Cohen had looks that mixed sequins with sheer and net. The effect created depth in these looks and most definitely elevated a regular sequined piece.

Layer a sheer jacket or top over the sequined piece to subdue the boldness in order to still wear the trend, but not be over the top.

Find a high-neck sequined top to layer under your outfit to have a little pizazz, almost like a necklace.

These are some of my favorite looks, where pieces are layered over the simple sequins or sequins are layered on top of sequins, adding so much character.
