If you've read the post, from way back when all, about embracing color, then you know I'm an advocate for throwing colored pieces into looks to make a bold statement. While I believe color can very much elevate an outfit, I still find it hard to fully embrace it. However, this past NYFW F/W 2018, mustard was all over the runway! It is definitely the color to go for because it is not too bold but not too subdued. While writing this post, I found that a large range of shades are considered mustard, so why not pick a favorite and run with it. Continue reading to see how to rock head to toe mustard, like this Leanne Marshall look, or just how to incorporate these pieces into your outfits!

These Bottega Veneta, Prabal Gurung, and Oscar de la Renta midi dresses above prove how this color is versatile enough to work with different silhouette, hence, different occasions. Whether you are dressing for work or chilling during the weekend, this color will help you stand out and hopefully acts a reminder to be bold and confident with who you are!

If you are more of a maxi lover, Adeam and Ulla Johnson perfectly display how this color works with these dresses as well. In all honesty, this post is turning into a mustard edit. So, here's a curated bunch of mustard maxis that can be worn from the beach to a fancy dinner.

As more of a romper/jumpsuit person myself, I was excited when I found these looks, such as this bottom left Pyer Moss jumpsuit. Attending any event with this outfit will leave a bold statement and is a risk everyone should take!

If you are going for the head to toe mustard look, separates are the way to go. This right most Pyer Moss ensemble is probably my favorite, as it plays with different shades of mustard. Approaching this trend like this outfit can help you ease into an eventual full single-colored look. Check out the sets below to see how you can incorporate mustard into your wardrobe.

A post about statement coats is coming soon, but in the meantime, the perfect statement coat usually contains a bold color! These Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, and All Comes From Nothing coats display the varying shades of mustard and prove it's versatility. Wear it singularly like a dress or mix it with other patterns and colors. Regardless of the styling, you will definitely be making a statement!
John Elliott | Marc Jacobs | Adeam |
Carrying on the color into bottoms, add mustard skirts and pants to your wardrobe to complete the ensemble. The runway, like in John Elliott and Marc Jacobs, mixed mustard with other colors. This elevated the looks and still allowed the mustard pieces to shine. Check out the items below to see what works best for you.
I decided to include some tops and accessories to truly make this a mustard edit. This subtle addition of color to an otherwise monochrome or neutral outfit will elevate your look and revamp one that you've had on repeat.
